Yes, it's true. We have a snow day! While that may not be a novelty to people that live in Edgerton, our district very rarely calls a snow day! We did get quite a bit of snow, but it is also bitterly cold and windy. Of course the kids want to go out and play--but they both left their boots at school. (Normally we have an extra pair at home, but we haven't gotten a 2nd pair for them yet). Hopefully we'll be able to figure something out.
The kids know that snow days are the only days I'll make them funnel cakes :-) Jon always told me how his mom would make doughnuts or funnel cakes on snow days. I thought that was a great idea! I just don't have to make them as often as Mom would out in the country!
Truman has to be the BEST baby ever. Connor was a great baby, Elianna had her moments, but Truman is so content! In fact, I went to check to see that he was still breathing this morning. It is 10:13 and he is still sleeping! After the phone call about school being cancelled, I couldn't fall back asleep (too excited, I guess :-)). I was feeling miserable with my cold too. So, I played on the computer a little bit, took some sudafed and some ibuprofen and went back to bed around 7:30. Elianna was up watching TV and I told her I would be back down soon as Truman would probably wake up anytime.
Well, I heard him peep around 8:15, but then I fell back asleep and when I woke up at 9, he was sleeping again! What a fabulous thing for a mother who is not feeling well! I don't dare venture out to the doctor right now either. We live at the top of a hill and the plow has come by and blocked the driveway with snow, plus, I don't know if I would get back UP the hill! (I had that problem last year!) So, we're hunkering down here at home :-)
